We asked people to describe the changes they saw in themselves and in their lives after receiving baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Here is what Maryse shared:
Before I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, I had an encounter with Him. In 1988, my son got sick, he had a cyst in his brain, and the doctor didn’t know what was going to happen to him. I was devastated by the news. I thought my son was going to die. God led me to share what was going on with an Allstate agent, Nelia Apolinar, who recommended I go see Fr. Rookie, a catholic priest, who goes all over praying for people, so they get healed.
Following the healing mass, Father Rookie laid one hand on my head and the other on my son’s head…The power of God went through me like electricity, and I knew immediately that my son was instantly healed. I came to church depressed that day, and Joy came into my heart. Only God can do that.
I made a promise to God to serve Him every day of my life without accepting payment for my services done for the Glory of God!
I remember saying, “God, please use me the same way you use Fr. Rookie when he is not available”, and the gifts started to come in about 2 years later…
After mass that day, someone handed me a flyer to attend a Life in the Spirit Seminar and I did, because I wanted to know more about that great and powerful God who just saved my life.
I remember I had a chronic headache that day, and it usually would not go away until I took 4 Tylenol pills. I remember asking God, “Can you please take the headache away without me taking any pills today?” And He did.
Since then, I no longer have these chronic headaches, and my son never had any of these symptoms.
