#TestimonyTuesday

from Marta McGlade

I became involved in the CCR in 1970 while living in Puerto Rico.  I was led by the Holy Spirit to leave my corporate job and work in the small town of Aguas Buenas, collaborating with Fr. Tom Forrest, C.Ss.R., who later became Director of ICCRO in Brussels.  I ended up in Brussels and then in Rome.  I was so fortunate to meet such holy people who enhanced my own spirituality.  I’ll never forget the image of 6000 priests processing out of St. Peter’s when we organized the first Worldwide Retreat for Priests.  It was a glorious vision to see them all in their white albs and stoles singing and glorifying the Lord.  I could not help but kneel on the pavement of St. Peter’s Square and cry with such emotion.  I will never be able to thank my Lord for allowing me to experience those moments when I knew I was in the presence of the Spirit.  These moments changed my life forever and I came to realize that when God touches you to serve it is not for a season of our lives but rather until we close our eyes and go with our Maker!
