John Hutchins has been in the Renewal for 14 years.  He was born a Catholic and was a good Catholic, doing the minimal amount, by going to Mass when obligated and helping very little until he was baptized in the Spirit. Then he helped organize and plan conferences, retreats for couples, families and leaders. He helped organized and ran Life in the Spirit Seminars, he was one of four men that started Catholic Men’s Group in Greensburg. He became involved in his Church by volunteering, and also became an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.

Before his conversion John was going through very hard times with the family business and was not nice to be around, then he went to the Holy Spirit School of Prayer (Life in the Spirit). He felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and love. Previously, he would have had a very bad allergic reaction to incense, he would start choking and his throat would close. After baptism in the Spirit he was totally healed. He then noticed when he was at Adoration during a Festival of Praise, his children saw the incense encompasse his whole body and he did not get up running out of the building coughing and choking. He was HEALED. Praise God.

John and his wife Kim were members of the NSC Council from 2008 to the end of 2017. Last year, they were appointed Liaisons for the Renewal in the Diocese of Greensburg (PA). John is a small business owner with a background in computers and accounting. He has a talent for building and constructing, and likes to figure out how to solve problems. He and Kim have been married since 1989.  They have four children. He was elected to the NSC this year.
