Maria Muratore, originally from New York, attended St. John’s University, received a bachelor’s degree in finance and worked in banking in Manhattan before starting a family. Maria has always been an active practicing Catholic. She’s ministered in various capacities through the years. As a young adult, she attended The Amazing Grace prayer group and assisted at Healing Masses, Retreats, Seminars, Conferences and wherever there was a need. She assisted Youth Ministry at St. Gabriel’s Retreat House on Shelter Island, NY to counsel teenagers on retreats.
Maria is happily married to Peter and have been blessed with two daughters, Nicole and Michelle.

Early on in ministry, Maria developed and led a young mother’s “Moms and Tots” group at Notre Dame Parish in New Hyde Park, NY. She later founded and led “The Queen of Peace” prayer group. She enjoyed developing various prayer opportunities and events for young families and children.

Maria and her family moved to Cary, NC during the summer of 2009 and joined St. Michael the Archangel parish in Cary. Since then, Maria has served as a Catechist for Elementary Faith Formation, the Edge Middle School, as well as the Teen Youth ministry. Maria had been an active board member for Catholic Charismatic Services of the Diocese of Raleigh before being appointed by the bishop as the Director. Maria also Co-leads the Jesus Is Lord prayer group at St. Andrew’s, Apex NC as well as the Holy Spirit Ministries Prayer group at St. Michael’s, Cary NC.

Maria enjoys partnering with other ministries, collaborating and edifying others to reach goals together. She seeks to unify prayer groups within the Diocese of Raleigh to create fellowship and an awareness of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. She strives to achieve unity through Diocesan-wide conferences, Festival of Praise events, Regional prayer gatherings, retreats, Life in the Spirit Seminars, Healing Services and Masses, virtual Zoom prayer opportunities, workshops and more. Maria feels honored and blessed about being appointed and serving as the Catholic Charismatic Services Director for the Diocese of Raleigh under the Office of Evangelization and Discipleship.

Maria has a heart for intercessory and healing prayer (inner and physical). Seeing the Holy Spirit’s power in action throughout the church and in ministry has been an honor and a blessing. She is a trained Prayer Team Minister, holds an Encounter Ministries Graduate Certification for Inner and Physical Healing and Leadership. She’s been blessed to witness many miracles, testimonies and conversions and is excited to see what the Holy Spirit has in store for us going forward. Maria is honored to be welcomed as a Council Member of the National Service Committee of the Charismatic Renewal in the US/ Pentecost today USA. She is also a member of the Association of Diocesan Liaisons, ADL.
