Fr. Killian Loch

Fr. Killian (Richard) Loch, O.S.B. is a native of Wilkes-Barre, PA where he attended Catholic Elementary and High Schools. After Graduation from High School he attended St. Pius X Seminary in Dalton, Pennsylvania, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Scranton before completing a master of divinity degree at St. John School of Theology and a master of education degree at Boston College. His assignments have included service as assistant pastor at St. Gabriel’s in Hazleton and Annunciation in Williamsport, director of religious formation and procurator at Bishop Neumann High School in Williamsport and principal of Bishop Hafey High School, Hazleton, pastor of SS Peter and Paul, Towanda, St. Mary of the Assumption, Scranton, Immaculate Conception, Scranton, and Christ the King, Dunmore. He served as Episcopal vicar for the eastern pastor region of the Diocese of Scranton and as well as Episcopal vicar for priests of the Diocese of Scranton.

Special assignments include service as moderator liaison to the bishop for the charismatic renewal of the Diocese of Scranton, vicar forane, member and chairman of the bishop’s advisory committee on Catholic education, spiritual moderator for marriage encounter, member of the college of consulters, member of the priests council, member and chairman of the Association of Diocesan Liaisons to the Charismatic Renewal, member and chairman of the national service committee of the Catholic charismatic renewal, and as moderator of the diocesan annual appeal.

In 2010 Fr. Killian entered Saint Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe PA, and began formation as a Benedictine Monk. In 2011 he was appointed Director of Campus Ministry at Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, PA., and in 2014 Professed his Solemn Vows as a Benedictine. In 2021 He was appointed Prior of Saint Vincent
Archabbey.
